About this event:

NV Energy wants to raise prices again. They're asking the government (specifically, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada or PUCN) to let them collect $215.7 million more each year from people who use electricity.

They're also asking to raise the amount of profit they're allowed to make. Right now, they're allowed to earn a certain percentage on the money they invest—kind of like interest—but they want to increase that to 7.95% overall and 10.25% for their shareholders.
